The comparison below is unfortunately compressed but it shows what type of resolution difference can be expected between the portable and docked mode. In the portable mode, the game runs at a rather low resolution of 540p and as a result, might not look as good as the Docked version. Despite being a late port, the developers have actually spent some time in making sure the game is optimized to the Switch hardware and as a result, it looks closer to the PS4 and Xbox One version than the original Xbox 360 or PS3 release of the game. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy has been ported rather nicely on the Nintendo Switch. Both version of the game run at 30 FPS and can suffer from stutter during some of the more heated scenes. The game runs at 900p resolution on the Nintendo Switch while the Xbox One version runs at 1080p resolution. The comparison here is between the Nintendo Switch version in Docked mode versus the Xbox One version. The game seems to hold up really well on the Nintendo Switch hardware and while it doesn’t really render at native 720p when in portable mode, or native 1080p when playing it Docked mode, it looks decent next to the current remastered Trilogy that was released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC last year. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy is out now on the Nintendo Switch.
